Pilot Limited Edition 90th Anniversary Fountain Pens – Toki and Raden Toki
In celebration of its 90th anniversary, Pilot presents two
captivating collector’s items, the Emperor-size Toki and the Yukari-size
Raden Toki.
Decades past, there was a sight that united both royalty and mere paddy
field farmers. Taking a respite from their labours, they would gaze
heavenward and have their breaths taken away by the Toki (Japanese
Crested Ibis), soaring gracefully and painting the skies with their brilliantly
beautiful vermilion coats. A majestic sight to behold, the people took great
comfort in this and treasured it as a sign of something far greater than them.
The 90th Anniversary Commemorative Fountain Pens are created using the
Toki motif.
The Pilot 90th Anniversary Toki and Raden Toki pens are crafted by hand from start to
finish by Japan’s finest artisans.The combined use of the Togidashi-Taka Maki-e and Rankaku techniques only serve to add immeasurable value to the worth of the pen.
The Raden Toki is made from another highly distinctive Maki-e technique which uses inner
shells, like mother-of-pearl, on the surface of the barrel.
The Toki and Raden Toki pens come in an exclusive wooden box made from Japanese paulownia, also known as the princess tree.
TheToki comes in an extremely limited quantity of only 90 pieces worldwide, while the Raden Toki is
only available in 900 pieces.
