"Noto Nogoro" is an ancient Javanese prophecy that during its reign, the people will enjoy social justice and advanced welfare. Its belief that this word "NO" and "TO" refer to two former Indonesian leaders and the next "NO" refers to the current president of Indonesia. The prophecy is depicted through the constant struggle between the good and evil -- "Arjuna and Cakil"-- in the scenes of the traditional Indonesian Shadow Theatre -- "Wayang Kulit", where the righteous warrior will reign and lead Indonesia into prosperity and better social welfare.
The Sailor Noto Nogoro Limited Edition Fountain Pen is custom made by Elephant & Coral and manufactured by Sailor Japan in a limited quantity of 25 pieces only. Noto Nogoro is handcrafted by Sailor Pens (Japan) using the traditional art of Maki-e onto iron wood. The 18kt solid gold nib is set in a Nagahara Cross Emperor nib -- a special nib crafted by Sailor's nib master, Mr.Nagahara Nobuyoshi. Almost all are sold at this time of editing.
