Inspired by the famous Trevi Fountain in Rome, the “Trevi” fountain pen is Stipula’s latest edition to its exclusive Academia collection. Completed in 1762, the Trevi is one of the largest and most famous fountains in Rome. Legend has it that anyone throwing a coin over his shoulder while standing with his back to the fountain will see Rome again.
Everyday, an estimated 3,000 coins are tossed in by those hoping for the Fountain’s “blessing” of a return trip. The Trevi is also remembered in two noteworthy films, "Three Coins in the Fountain" from 1954, and Fellini's 1960 "La Dolce Vita" where Anita Ekberg famously bathes and is consequently rescued by Marcello Mastroianni. The sculptural masterpiece is immortalized with this limited edition of 598 pens by Stipula. The Florentine pen maker, known for its exquisite metalwork, has sculpted each one-of-a-kind pen in solid sterling silver with highly polished enamel in watercolor shades of blue and green that complements the matte-finished cast metal. The Trevi retractable fountain pen offers Stipula’s patented capless activation system and features an 18K gold nib. Uses cartridges or converter.
