Derived from the average 58 million kilometre distance at which Mercury, the first planet of our solar system, orbits the sun, the limited edition “Caelum” is limited worldwide to 580 writing instruments.

The Pelikan Limited Edition Caellum is a spectacular creation full of astonishingly staged details of our solar system.
The masterfully hand engraved 18 carat gold nib, decorated throughout with rhodium, is just the tip of this impressive masterpiece. The top of the cap symbolises the sun shining over everything, its brilliant golden rays engraved into the cap of the “Caelum” towards which the nine planets of the solar system stream. At the foot of the cap, likewise in the form of the finest engraving, begins the fascinating representation of all nine planets, from Mercury to Pluto, which is continued passionately on the barrel. On the back, along the entire length of the cap and barrel is a gilded band, with the names of the sun and all the planets, crossed by the finely symbolised planetary orbits.
Barrel, cap and grip are framed in fine sterling silver and painted cosmos blue such that many distant stars and planets from other galaxies can be seen as tiny points of light.
About Pelikan Pen
Pelikan is a global brand and was founded in Hanover in 1832. It is a German but Swiss-incorporated manufacturer of premium fountain pens and other writing, office and art equipments. Pelikan is also credited with the invention of the differential-piston filling method.
Pelikan "true" history began with the model "100" and the modified 100N (both fountain pens), which sparked the genesis of the company's distinctive styling.
The modern-day range includes a popular Souverän (meaning Sovereign) line which consists of the very small M300, small M400, medium M600, large M800 and oversized M1000. A new range of large, modern pens have recently been released called 'Toledo', are manufactured in two sizes in Toledo in Spain. The M700 Toledo is the same size as the (new-style) M400 and the M900 is the same size as the M800.
Pelikan Demonstrator Fountain Pens are also a magnet to many users because it was actually being made for salesman to demonstrate the mechanism of the a fountain pen and were meant for a proof set. As a result, Pelikan Demonstrator Pens are one of the most collectible pens sought after by collectors worldwide. For pen users, Pelikan Demonstrator Pen has gain much attention these days with the choice of interesting ink colours which a user can see the colour of the ink within the ink chamber and at the same time knows how much ink is left after use.
Pelikan is also credited for making Pelikan Special Edition Pens and Pelikan Limited Edition Pens since 1993. The first was the Blue Ocean, a transparent 'demonstrator' version of the M800 fountain pen.
