Pilot Antique Makie Fighting Cock Fountain Pen

Cockfighting is a blood sport that dates back as far as 6000 years ago. While not all Fighting Cocks fought to their deaths, the cocks may endure significant physical trauma.  The physical rigor of CockFighting is so traumatic that some finds it cruel.  However, the experience of watching two fowls fought to be winner is both exciting and thrilling. In this Pilot Antique Makie Tokei Fighting Cock Fountain Pen which was made c. 1970s ~ 1980s it shows a pair of Fighting Cock (Tokei) getting into a stance of an imminent duel. One of the Fighting Cock was staring at the other from the barrel upwards while the other was ready to pounce on the other downwards from the cap which creates a stiff air concentrated at the cap/barrel interface.  A lot of dynamism and energy on this pen. The Fighting Cocks are made of taka makie (high relief lacquer) and for good reasons, after a long period of use, it gets into a very mellow but beautiful color.  Gold dust are sprinkled along the pen which makes the pen looks great. Writing with the 18kt gold nib pen is certainly a great pleasure as it glides on paper. Condition is excellent and it comes complete with a box.  Contact us  at sales@elephant-coral.com for more information.
