Kane Bounty Rare Pen Collection
When I first saw Kane Bounty on Pen World, he came across to me as a Canadian celebrity with deep-set shinning eyes and profound features. Least to expect, behind such a handsome face was a creative mind who did one of the most stunning filigree works onto a black urushi emperor pen.
It was the Spider filigree where he used white gold overlayed onto the No.50 (Jumbo) emperor pens which attracted my full attention.
Due to the high precision and meticulous work required from him, any order of pens from Kane took months to deliver. It was tormenting for the many collectors who liked the pens as well as the person who was going to make them.
On a chance occasion, Kane spoke to Elephant & Coral about his Rare Pen Collection. He had an extraordinary collection of 43 different designs made with filigree overlaid onto Pelikan, Parker, Namiki, Montblanc and other pen brands. Somehow, it was like manicuring the garden of your neighbour using your own gardening tools. Nevertheless, it created one of the most stunning collections of filigree pens we had ever seen. Price was agreed upon for him to sell this Rare Pen Collection to Elephant & Coral.
Kane first arrived in Elephant & Coral during the early afternoon with his priced collection. After a long journey which took him more than 24 hours from North America, he was nevertheless happy that he arrived safely in Elephant & Coral. He had clung onto his dear collection throughout the journey, afraid that it may get lost, as he had never seen so much money being paid for his collection at one go.
Forty-three pens were housed in a black leather box about four-tier high. Everyone’s heart in Elephant & Coral pulsated really fast when this stunning collection was unveiled and presented before our eyes. The box and the pens themselves were a good 8kg.
Kane was happy that he had relinquished his responsibilities, and it was time for him to enjoy the sunny spells in tropical Singapore walking along Orchard Road towards his hotel, The Hilton.
