Namiki White Tiger Limited Edition

The Namiki White Tiger was made in 1996 for the USA market. Maki-e artisan, Kyusai Yoshida was tasked to make this 300 pieces of limited edition to captivate the hearts of the pen collector market. [caption id="attachment_3884" align="alignleft" width="300"]Kyusai Yoshida signature Signature of Kyusai Yoshida on Namiki White Tiger Limited Edition[/caption] The White Tiger is a traditional sign of power and strength in the Far East. Namiki brings the tiger™s awesome grace and symbolism to writing in this Limited edition White tiger fountain pen. Each pen is hand crafted in the traditional Japanese art of lacquering by combining togidashi maki-e and hira maki-e techniques to illustrate the traditional Japanese art form. First the tiger pattern was traced onto the pen surface in urushi (sap from a Japanese lacquer tree). Powdered gold (maru-pun) and vibrant coloured pigments are applied to the drawing while the urushi is still wet. The production of each intricate artwork usually takes three to six months to complete. Each pen is signed and endorsed by the artisan with his signature to authenticate its refineness and honour. Each Namiki White Tiger pen comes in an 18 karat gold nib with 18 karat gold accents. A beautiful walnut wood collector box elegantly displays the pen with a bottle Namiki ink delicately imprinted with a tiger™s paw on the cap. The Namiki White Tiger Limited edition pen is the key to the knowledge and wisdom of Namiki which has the history and vision to pen collecting.
