The Namiki Yukari Royale Peony Fountain Pen was created by the artisan Misa Seki, in Togidashi Taka Maki-e, using gold powder jim maki-e and raden. Originally from China, peony has been used for its medicinal virtues since antiquity.  It is also the National flower of China. The beauty of its petals and its sweet fragrance attract attention and demand admiration.  Considered as the royal flower, it is often depicted in the world of art, and especially that of literature.  Even well known music sang praise to this flower since a long time ago. Namiki is the surname of Ryosuke Namiki, the founder of the Pilot, named Namiki Manufacturing Company until 1938 when it became Pilot Pen Co Ltd.
