Rewriting sporting history and manifesting the youthful dynamism and blossoming potential of elegant world-class athletes, Pilot Pen releases its latest Limited Commemorative Edition Pilot Blossoming Orchids Pen to usher in the inaugural Youth Olympic Games (YOG). The prized orchid – perfect, beautiful and strong – is a powerful symbol celebrating the Olympic values of ‘Excellence’, ‘Friendship’ and ‘Respect’, and embodies the true spirit of the Singapore 2010 YOG. The luxurious orchid blossoms embellishment comes alive in the Hira Maki-e technique, and is created using coloured Urushi lacquers. Juxtaposed against the lively, swirling ribbons of silk and coated with a sprinkle of gold powder, the limited commemorative edition is synonymous with the youths’ ideals, dreams and ambitions, as well as their budding talents blooming. With vibrant Olympic colours bursting forth like rays of light, it expresses the energy and vigour of young athletes heralding in the dawn of fresh new beginnings. The writing instrument also features an 18-karat precision gold nib with rhodium accent and piston ink delivery for a long-lasting performance. It is also the first-of-its-kind to use Iroshizuku (Colour droplet) ink in Yama Budo (Crimson Glory Vine) colour. The Pilot Pen Corporation was founded by Ryosuke Namiki with Masao Wada in 1918 under the name of the Namiki Manufacturing Company. Pilot Fountain Pen is well known globally as the best Japanese pen manufacturer producing fine writing instruments and stationery and to some extent, jewellery.
