Soushie 草纸绘
The Pilot Soushie 80th Anniversary Limited Edition is a special limited edition of 63 pieces and designed by Masaru Hayashi 林勝 to commemorate Pilot Japan on its Anniversary. The theme of the pen was based on classic tales from the Heian Era when scrolls were made depicting stories, diaries and poems featuring paintings and hira-gana writing for the enjoyment of courtesan ladies. The themes were extracted from two separate tales. The pen cap depicted themes from "Azuma-ya", 50th scoll of "genji-monogram" by Shikibu-Murasaki. The heroine Murasaki figurine was made using taka-makie high relief lacquer, raden mother of pearl and nashiji gold dust on its background. The theme on the pen barrel was an extract from "Snow on the peak of Koro-mine", 299th section of "Makura-Soushi" by Shonagon-Kiyo. Pilot Soushie 80th Anniversary Limited Edition was made together with two other Pilot 80th Anniversary Limited Editon, namely Kai-Awase 貝合せ and and Bugaku 舞樂 which are limited edition of 55 and 68 pieces respectively.
