Namiki supported the world of endangered species, The Shark, with this unique limited edition of fountain pens made in limited quantity of 80 pieces. The Namiki Shark Limited Edition Fountain Pen is a valuable work of art and handcrafted by master Maki-e artist Masato 真人. A superior eye dropper system provides smooth writing experience for any demanding user with the precision of a large size 18-karat gold nib. Made using high relief taka maki-e, raden, togidashi maki-e and raden to create this unique collection of Namiki Shark Limited Edition. Highlighting the characteristics of the shark's jaws to the effect such that no other predator can compete. And the teeth within are as sharp as razor. Highlighted with gold and lacquer, the Shark depicted on this pen uses its jaws to carry out the final step in the capture of its prey. The Namiki Shark Limited Edition fountian pen is made using the Shishiai-Togidashi (burnished-raised) Maki-e technique. Small pieces of Raden abalone shells to highlight the shark's eyes to express its powerful acumen. The fierce waves surrounding the Shark are created by the Bokashi (shading off) Maki-e technique, where gradations of gold powder are used. Various raden techniques illustrate the waves and help to replicate the activity in the sea.
