Through centuries, poets and literates had enjoyed the views of pavilion and the red maple leaves during the autumn time. In this beautiful Namiki Yukari Autumn Leaves Pavilion fountain pen, the pavilion perched on the hilly mountains overlooking the hilly mountains is both an enchanting view with the autumn maple leaves on the pen cap. High relief lacquer taka makie is applied to the pavilion while gold dust were sprinkled on the barrel to enhance the foreground of the pen. The red maples cascades gracefully on the cap giving the pen both perspective and colour. Hand crafted by highly skilled makie artisan in the esteem studio , Kokokai, at its Hiratsuka factory to give it the charcoal burnished effect on the motif. Namiki is the surname of Ryosuke Namiki, the founder of the Pilot, named Namiki Manufacturing Company until 1938 when it became Pilot Pen Co., Ltd.. The brand name Namiki came to fame in the early 20th Century when Dunhill retailed in the west the Maki-e pens produced by Pilot under the brand Dunhill-Namiki. This partnership has continued to the present day (occasionally Namiki makes a Limited Edition for Dunhill) although Namiki has always been owned by Pilot.
The premium Namiki ranges include the Emperor Collection, Yukari Royal, and Yukari Collection, and this is the brand used by Pilot to sell their the high valued Maki-e pens worldwide.
