Namiki Yukari Royal Frog Fountain Pen heralds omen of leaping to Greater Heights. Made by Yumi Hayashi (see an interesting story about Namiki Kokkokai below), one of the three lady artisans in Namiki's Kokkokai who have been producing stunning masterpieces for the world's Namiki collectors. Throughout Japanese history, frogs have been known as lucky charms for those embarking on a new adventure. Boasting the traditional precision made golden 18K nib and embossed with a combination of exquisite Kawari-nuri and gleaming Raden (mother of pearl) lacquerware style, the Yukari Royale seeks to turn your luck around and brings about great achievements for the user. So, about Yumi Hayashi, she is the good half of another renown maki-e artist Masaru Hayashi. Good news seems to be always with Kokkokai as there is another renown couple artisans in Kokkokai, Yasunori Sakamoto and Nobuko Sakamoto, for many longer time Namiki collectors, they would remember her making the Namiki Emperor Colza Flower. About Namiki
Namiki is the surname of Ryosuke Namiki, the founder of the Pilot, named Namiki Manufacturing Company until 1938 when it became Pilot Pen Co., Ltd.. The brand name Namiki came to fame in the early 20th Century when Dunhill retailed in the west the Maki-e pens produced by Pilot under the brand Dunhill-Namiki. This partnership has continued to the present day (occasionally Namiki makes a Limited Edition for Dunhill) although Namiki has always been owned by Pilot. The premium Namiki ranges include the Emperor Collection, Yukari Royale, and Yukari Collection, and this is the brand used by Pilot to sell their the high valued Maki-e pens worldwide.
