Namiki Coral Limited Edition Sango Fountain Pen
The Namiki Coral Limited Edition Sango Fountain Pen is the newest addition to the Namiki Collection. Corals have been familiar to people as jewelry and handicrafts because of its beautiful appearance. As some corals have lived for more than 1,000 years, it has long been regarded as a good luck charm in the East since ancient times. In Japan, coral is the birthstone for March. In addition, the 35th wedding anniversary is called "Coral Anniversary". It is recorded in Greek mythology that the blood after the hero Perseus beheaded the devil Medusa flowed into the Mediterranean Sea to form corals. For this reason, corals have been worn by people as protection against evil spirits. The exceptional artwork featured on this fountain pen was designed by Seiki Chida (千田 正樹) of the highly revered KOKKOKAI Group. It takes many months to expertly handcraft each Coral fountain pen. The barrel of Namiki Coral Limited Edition Sango Fountain Pen was designed using the traditional Maki-e lacquer work, Chinkin gold and silver inlay techniques, and stunning mother-of-pearl Raden elements. The Coral has a classical Emperor vest-type body style and is enhanced with traditional 18-karat gold, rhodium-plated nib featuring the iconic silhouette of Mount Fuji, available in Medium or Broad nib sizes. Only 99 Limited Editions of Namiki Coral Limited Edition Sango Fountain Pen have been produced worldwide. The fountain pen comes in a special box finished with blue lacquer resembling the ocean and the serial plate is decorated with coral and Suzumedai. A special bottled ink was produced depicting corals and Tsunodashi on the cap. The elegant presentation box evokes the feeling of water through the beautiful, silky blue fabric. The large capacity barrel fills with ink via an eyedropper. Call Elephant & Coral at 6736-1322 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Namiki is the surname of Ryosuke Namiki, the founder of the Pilot, named Namiki Manufacturing Company until 1938 when it became Pilot Pen Co., Ltd. The brand name Namiki came to fame in the early 20th Century when Dunhill retailed in the west the Maki-e pens produced by Pilot under the brand Dunhill-Namiki. This partnership has continued to the present day (occasionally Namiki makes a Limited Edition for Dunhill) although Namiki has always been owned by Pilot. The premium Namiki ranges include the Emperor Collection, Yukari Royale, and Yukari Collection, and this is the brand used by Pilot to sell their the high valued Maki-e pens worldwide.
