Namiki Night Scene of Pavilion Fountain Pen
Namiki has reintroduced the beautiful Namiki Night Scene of Pavilion Fountain Pen with theme of the latest addition to the Yukari Royale. The Night Scene of Pavilion Fountain Pen is a new rendition of a pavilion set deep in the mysterious Chinese mountains. Pavilions are customary in many Asian cultures’ artwork, not only for historical reference but also to symbolize the mysterious depth of the human mind. The Night Scene of Pavilion was created through togidashi-taka maki-e techniques, consisting of a burnished-raised design applying a layer of lacquer, sprinkling gold or silver powder and drying with an additional lacquer layer to fix the powder. Stunning combinations of silver and gold powder are used throughout the pen’s artwork with the traditional black lacquer accentuated with gold powder background. The Yukari Royale Night Scene of Pavilion Fountain Pen is carefully crafted and painted with the artisan’s signature, Yutaka Sato (佐藤 豊). The fountain pen has a #20, 18 karat gold nib with rhodium accents that features the customary Mount Fuji illustration. It fills via cartridge/converter (a CON-70 is included), and comes packaged in a wooden box with a bottle of ink. Call Elephant & Coral at 67361322 or sales@elephant-coral.com for more information
About Namiki
Namiki is the surname of Ryosuke Namiki, the founder of the Pilot, named Namiki Manufacturing Company until 1938 when it became Pilot Pen Co Ltd. The brand name Namiki came to fame in the early 20th Century when Dunhill retailed in the west the Maki-e pens produced by Pilot under the brand Dunhill-Namiki. This partnership has continued to the present day (occasionally Namiki makes a Limited Edition for Dunhill) although Namiki has always been owned by Pilot. The premium Namiki ranges include the Emperor Collection, Yukari Royale, and Yukari Collection, and this is the brand used by Pilot to sell their the high valued Maki-e pens worldwide.
